  • Federal Charges Possible in Washington Gang Case (News Article) - Posted 2/17/2010
     Some of the 32 suspected Hilltop Crips arrested in Tacoma, Washington during a law enforcement sweep aimed at crippling the gang may have their cases moved to federal court, where they would be charged under the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative and face stiffer sentences. At least eight of the defendants face counts of unlawful possession of firearms and several others are charged with using guns to commit robberies and shootings.
     
  • Gang Member Faces Life Sentence for Armed Robberies (News Article) - Posted 1/25/2010
     An illegal alien and gang member from Honduras who has been tied to two convenience store armed robberies in North Carolina has pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit Hobbs Act robbery and for aiding and abetting the use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. The defendant is being prosecuted under Project Safe Neighborhoods and could face life in prison.
     
  • Gang Member Sentenced for Illegal Gun Possession (News Article) - Posted 1/25/2010
     A member of a gang trafficking cocaine, marijuana, and PCP through the Seattle, Washington area has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The defendant, who has multiple prior felony convictions and is prohibted from carrying a gun, was arrested after police searched his home and found weapons, ammunition, and various drugs.
